Again?

Late last week, I finished round two of edits for Veiled Blessings. I’m so happy with the story now and I’m thankful for my editor, and the friends (author, editor, and reader – you know who you are 😊) who helped make this story even better. I learn so much about my writing through other people’s perspective. That’s why I’m so grateful for my #writingcommunity! I couldn’t do this without all of you!

One of the many things I’ve found out is that I have a penchant for certain words. Those words may be different for each manuscript (or not), but I will use them relentlessly. LOL

Every writer does this. It’s not unique to me. We do this in real life, why wouldn’t it carry over into our writing? Have you ever heard someone use a word phrase consistently and think, “They need to broaden their vocabulary?” 😊 Exactly….

Writers are warned not to use “just” and “very” among other taboo verbiage. I understand those and do my best to follow the rules. So, I find it amusing that my favorites were not the obvious choices. Frankly, the funny thing was how many times I overused them! Oh, and P.S. – thank God for the Find feature on Microsoft Word! Otherwise it would take a lot longer to get edits done.

Anywhoo…what are your “favorite” words? Let me know in the comments. We can encourage one another.

Till next week.

Peace and Blessings

~ Melissa
