First Responders

We are God’s “first responders”. We are the ones that run toward the hurting, maligned, sick, broken, and bleeding. Sometimes it is on our knees in prayer. Other times that prayer is coupled with physical action.
He has given us all we need to fight this battle. His Spirit; His Word; His armor. He is our shield; our Fortress; our Help. Our Commander is all powerful, all knowing, and completely sovereign. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Through the precious blood of Jesus Christ (His life, death, and resurrection) our Messiah has won the war, the enemy is defeated!
Battle is never easy. It’s ugly, bloody, painful, and long. When we look around at this world, we can feel hopeless. But that is a lie we must not entertain. We must always keep our Father’s truth as our primary focus. HIS Truth is the vaccine that our world so desperately needs. As His soldiers, we are already inoculated. We are the carriers of healing. And it really is life or death out there – eternally.
It reminds me of the Apostle Paul's words in Hebrews:
“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
I'm praying for you fellow soldiers! Fight the good fight! Rely on one another. When the things of this world obscure Our Commander, look to your left or right and see your brother or sister in Christ and lean on them. We are in this together and victory has already been guaranteed. Press on!
