Fruitiness?
This week my editor sent me the first round of edits for book two – Veiled Blessings! Yay!
Also, this week my editor sent me the first round of edits for Veiled Blessings. Oh boy, better get the tissues.
It’s so strange. Anyone who considers themselves a “creative” will attest to the fact that having your work judged is a double-edged sword. It’s flattering and stokes the fires of creativity to receive kudos. And it can be soul crushing and discouraging to hear criticisms – no matter how constructive.
Either way, it’s necessary.
Creativity by its very nature is dependent upon being seen, on being consumed, on being heard, and enjoyed. But when creativity is hidden, it doesn’t grow – or bear fruit.
Now forgive me for this reach. This Biblical text is far deeper than the illustration for which I’m fixin to use it. LOL
John 15:2 says: “Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away and every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
The Amplified Bible says it this way: Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He[repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit].
Let me tell you, pruning hurts! And every plant and every soul can use some pruning. After this week, all I can say is, I’m gonna be bearing some fine, rich fruit, y’all! LOL
I’m starting to really look forward to readers enjoying Veiled Blessings.
Till next week, I wish you peace and blessings! ~ Melissa
