Possibilities
Hello and happy Friday!
There is a quote attributed to C.S. Lewis that says, “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.”
I didn’t’ start writing seriously until I was 50, and I was published at 51. Now at 52 I’m set to release my second novel. My dream is for that pace to continue!
There are so many things that we use to hold us back. Excuses abound when it comes to trying new things.
“I’m too old” to start a new career, or go back to school, or to love again. “I don’t have” a degree, the time, the skills, and a million other things.
But are they true? Sarah was 80 when she had her first child! Noah was 500 when he built the ark! 😊 David was an adolescent when he fought Goliath! Bill Gates didn’t have a college degree. Billy Graham was a farm boy and became an international evangelist. Bobby Fischer was a Grand Master at chess at 15. Wayne Gretzky was 18 when he signed his ten-year hockey contract. And Wolfgang Mozart – need I say more?
Personally, I believe that if you’re not dead, you’re not done. We need to dwell in possibility knowing that nothing is impossible with God. Our purpose – the purpose(s) He gave us – begins at birth and continues until we meet Him in eternity and are given a new one.
I hope this is an encouragement to you to be courageous. Remember the God we serve and take one step at a time into His possibility!
Peace and Blessings
